About Anglesey

Anglesey, UK

Anglesey is a beautiful island off the coast of Wales. It boasts stunning landscapes, breathtaking views and an array of outdoor activities to suit any visitor.

Beaches

The beaches on Anglesey are second-to-none; with golden sands, crystal clear waters and plenty of space to relax or get active. From Rhosneigr in the south to Porth Dafarch in the north there’s something for everyone – take a leisurely stroll along miles of coastline, go swimming or try surfing at one of several surf schools dotted around the island. If you prefer exploring nature then head out towards Cemlyn Bay where you can spot seals basking on rocks as well as hundreds of different bird species.

Culture & History

Anglesey also has a rich cultural heritage that makes it unique amongst other islands in Wales and beyond. Take time to explore Beaumaris Castle – one of Britain’s most impressive medieval fortresses – before stopping off at some local pubs for traditional Welsh food and drink such as real ale or cawl (a hearty stew). You can even find ancient monuments like Barclodiad y Gawres burial chamber near Rhoscolyn which dates back over 5000 years!
